9/30/2009 Citizens and frequent visitors of San Francisco, Good evening. We have several matters to clarify regarding the responsibilities, powers, and positions of those in our court. Firstly, as is appropriate for one who is to keep Elysia sacred within our sect, our Keeper of Elysium shall have the authority to strip Standing from those who would violate the rules of Elysium. Woe to those who would sully Elysia with violence. Secondly, it is not always possible for the Prince and his Seneschal to attend every gathering in this Domain. This can, on occasion, cause consternation and concern, particularly given that Hospitality must be given in person to those seeking it, according to the Springfield Conclave of 2001. There is, however, a most honored precedent which can aid us in this case. Consequently, during Gatherings in the Domain of San Francisco where neither the Prince nor Seneschal are in attendance, we hereby grant both the Harpy and the Keeper of Elysium of the Domain the authority to extend Hospitality to guests for that evening alone. We wish to emphasize that this edict does not extend to grants of residency or longer-term Hospitality, and any grant that the Harpy or Keeper extends will be forwarded to the Prince and the Seneschal post-haste to avoid any confusion. Lastly, it is our pleasure to announce that several more Primogen have joined the Council of San Francisco. We wish to formally recognize and welcome Mr. Charlie Kesch, Dr. Viktor Hoffman, and Ms. Jenny McKinnet as the Voices for their respective Clans, bringing the current composition to: We look forward to the wise counsel they will bring us in the nights to come. Our thanks for your attention, Virgil Deems Prince of San Francisco 9/27/09 I wished to send a brief message to the Domain to remind you all of the edicts which had been announced at our gathering two weeks ago. Firstly, the Masquerade is the First Tradition for a reason, and as such, we encourage every kindred to prevent the revelation of our kind to those not of the Blood by whatever means necessary. If one finds themselves in a position where they need to exert influence over kine society to prevent such breaches, they should do so and report such actions as soon as possible to myself, my Seneschal, Mark Richardson, or my Keeper of Elysium, Acting Keeper William Stanford. We also request the same regarding any action which might draw wider attention from others due to its scope or nature. The reason for this is twofold. First, it is all too possible to work at cross-purposes when tugging like puppeteers on the marionette strings of broader society, and the Masquerade is too valuable to risk that we would do so through ignorance. Second, we wish to reward those who are vigilant and active in protecting our most cherished Tradition. Secondly, those who had hospitality or residency under a previous Prince of San Francisco should present themselves to me or to Seneschal Richardson within three months of the beginning of our praxis -- by the first of December -- that we may affirm your hospitality or residency and know who calls the fine Domain of San Francisco their home. For those kindred who are presently in the deep sleep of our kind, we would ask that you present yourself within three months of having wakened, for the same purposes. Likewise, all kindred who seek to maintain such hospitality or residency should present themselves to me or to my seneschal at least once a year thereafter, unless, of course, they have entered the deep sleep of our kind. Per the 2001 Springfield Conclave, all such presentations must be in person, though you may arrange for a private audience. Lastly, I remind you all that my court is actively reviewing the edicts of previous Princes of San Francisco. Until such time as we have finished our task, the edicts of former Prince Daniel Book yet stand by my word, but this will not be the case indefinitely. Should you have a personal interest in any past edict, including (but not limited to) grants of Personal Domain, please bring them to our attention. Our records of the edicts of past princes are incomplete, and it is our intent to be as scrupulous as possible going forward. On a related note, we also hereby formally affirm Mark Richardson's Personal Domain over his tree. Those who were not in attendance at Friday's court missed a momentous occasion in the history of the Domain of San Francisco. Daniel Book stepped down as Prince of the Domain and I, Virgil Deems, claimed praxis. Mr. Book is, of course, welcome in San Francisco; it is the least that we could extend to someone who has worked so tirelessly and effectively to strengthen this Domain and our Sect as a whole. Until we have been able to review all of the proclamations by his office, those proclamations yet stand. In the meanwhile, however, it is fitting that we announce the positions in our court which have already been filled. Mark Richardson has agreed to stand as our seneschal. The Clan of Seers has long helped to guide the Camarilla with their wisdom and insights. Likewise, Seneschal Richardson has helped to protect and shape this Domain for years now, and we Cherish and Esteem the guidance that he will provide in the nights to come. Michelangelo Arcadia has likewise agreed to serve as Sheriff of San Francisco. Clan Tremere has long shown itself to be composed of staunch defenders of our great sect, and Sheriff Arcadia is a paragon of this devotion. As our justice, he shall be Feared within the Camarilla. The Right Honorable William Stanford will serve as interim Keeper of Elysium, with all the powers and responsibilities thereof, until such time as we choose a long-term replacement. In the intervening time, Mr. Stanford shall continue to be Revered in the eyes of the Camarilla for the exemplary service he continues to provide as voice of Clan Ventrue in this Domain. Speaking of Primogen of this Domain, we have asked that Ms. Jenny McKinnett consider maintaining a presence in this domain and at our gatherings to serve as voice of Clan Brujah, and it is our hope that she accepts, extending her long and distinguished service to San Francisco. It is likewise our hope that Mr. Hoffman returns to his exemplary role as Primogen of Clan Tremere, and that in the coming nights, voices for all those Clans that have long supported our great sect step forward. It would, of course, be improper for us to opine upon the office of Harpy of this Domain in coming nights, but we would be remiss if we did not take this opportunity to thank Angel LaRouge for her phenomenal work in the past several years. We dearly hope that she is able to continue to find ways to put her formidable skills to the service of this Domain and to the Camarilla.
